Client works

The date is July 26, 2022, and the time is 2:02 AM at the time of writing. This will be my first post of hopefully many on the Skulking’s blog.

I’ve been screen printing for six years at this point and have been making websites using drop and drop style interfaces for five years. I began with Shopify which didn’t really allow for a lot of editing, then I went on to Webflow and now to here, WordPress.

I created my first website to sell clothes for a clothing brand I started 5 years ago called ‘SKULPIST’. I wanted to take more control over how the website looked and my friend recommended Webflow as a good place to start. I found it really limiting since it’s such a new platform and in the end I found it wasn’t suitable for what I wanted to make. I was creating client websites at the time using Webflow and it just wasn’t intuitive at all.

WordPress with Elementor Pro seems to be a nice middle ground with being simple and straightforward to use while being more complicated and specific where you need it to be when you know where to look. Plugins are great too honestly and allow for a lot of customizability.

My goal is to use this Skulking’s website as a portfolio to display my client works and use it as a diary to immortalize all of my past, current, and new works.

I haven’t really written and shared anything substantial concerning what I’m doing, or my train of thought and stream of consciousness since the Tumblr days of 2013 or so. It feels really lethargic.

The plan is to write more about the projects I’m working on and things I do relating to print because it excites me. If you’re reading this, hello! I look forward and hope to share more with you.
